The Asteroid No. 4 – Northern Songs LP Yellow And Black Vinyl

Northern Songs was of course the publishing name used by the Beatles and although The Asteroid No 4 don’t exactly ape the fab four they are indebted to the shimmer and jangle of 1960’s psychedelia with nods to the Byrds and the Rain Parade front and centre. The dronier, druggier influence of Spacemen 3 is also notable but if the pure pop songwriting of the brilliant title track is replicated across the record this could be a classic sunshine pop record to cheer up 2020
